Garden Series

Inspired by the FRENCH PARTERRE DE BRODERIE / GARDEN of embroidery.

i see the garden as another form of the constructed self.

Gardens by Devi Atelier is a reflection on the universal appeal of nature across time and cultures. Each piece is rooted in its creator’s inspirations and influences: elements of mathematics and geometry inform the volume and texture, evoking the artist’s memories and dreams of Mughal and French gardens.

In the French ‘parterre’ tradition, Devi creates bespoke 3D-embroidery gardens, flower beds and shrubs in a palette of beautiful colors and shapes, their geometric discipline softened by the poetry of the overflowing Haute Couture sequins and Japanese beads

Every piece is handmade in the tradition of ‘métiers d’art’, requiring many hours of delicate craftsmanship. Each artwork has more than 200,000 beads and sequins on average.
